A Balancing Actress equips emerging artists with the tools to build sustainable careers by addressing mental wellness, identity, and financial literacy, areas often missing from traditional training programs.

We are a professional growth platform helping artists build sustainable, mentally healthy, and financially stable creative careers through education, community, and industry-informed wellness practices.

A Balancing Actress Collaborative partners with performing arts programs to provide workshops that complement technical training with practical life and career skills.

Our sessions are interactive, discussion-based, and tailored specifically to the unique pressures of creative careers.

All workshops and services are for educational purposes only and do not constitute therapy, mental health treatment, or financial, legal, or medical advice.

Our Approach

Programming is delivered by performing arts professionals in collaboration with a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) to ensure responsible, educational wellness practices.

  • Workshops can be adapted to meet departmental goals and student needs.

    Available formats include:

    • 60–90 minute guest workshop

    • Extended workshop or intensive

    • Multi-session residency

    • Virtual or in-person delivery

    Each session combines education, discussion, and practical exercises designed for performing artists.

    We collaborate with faculty to align workshops with program priorities, student experience levels, and departmental goals.

    Custom topics and multi-session programming are available upon request.

    Workshops begin at $1,800 for a 90 minute session.

    Half-day, full-day, and multi-day experiences are available.

    Travel typically includes:

    • Roundtrip airfare for 2 facilitators (if applicable)

    • Hotel (1–2 nights depending on schedule) for 2 facilitators

    • Gas reimbursement if within 100 miles

    Whenever possible, we aim to bundle multiple workshops or partner with nearby institutions to help reduce travel costs.

  • Many of our campus partners begin with a single workshop and choose to expand into a more immersive experience.

This workshop addresses one of the biggest gaps in actor training: how to sustain a career psychologically, not just artistically. Students will learn evidence-informed tools to manage rejection, regulate their nervous system, separate identity from outcomes, and build resilience in high-pressure performance environments. The session is interactive, practical, and immediately applicable to both training and professional settings.

Students learn to:

The Working Artist: Financial Literacy & Career Sustainability in the Arts

This workshop prepares students for one of the most overlooked realities of an acting career: managing a non-linear professional life. Students will learn how the industry actually functions, how to navigate irregular income patterns, and how to build sustainable career structures using portfolio career strategies and practical financial systems. The session is grounded, applicable, and designed to reduce burnout, increase autonomy, and support long-term career retention.

Students learn:
